Conditions of Entry

Entry is conditional upon acceptance of these conditions
1.     Before riding:
a.    all open competitors must sign a day attendance form.
b.    PCAV club member cards must be inspected at the secretary’s office.
2.     No refunds after closing date except with vet or medical certificate. An admin fee of $10 will be deducted.
3.     Entering this competition constitutes acknowledgement that PCAV rules apply and acceptance of these rules.
4.     The organising committee reserves the right to cancel any class or competition; divide any class; alter times; refuse any entry with or without stating the reason.
5.     Competitors may ride more than one horse, subject to the conditions of PCAV Handbook of By-laws multiple horse rules.
6.     Complying helmets must worn, spot checks may occur.
7.     Gear Check: required for all riders 15 minutes before each phase.
8.     Medical Armbands: must be worn by all competitors.
9.     Riders under eight years of age may not compete in Horse Trials, horses must be at least age four, no stallions, colts or rigs.
10.  Competitor numbers - the organising committee will pre-allocate and advise numbers. Body numbers will be supplied and must be worn at all times whilst mounted.
11.  PCAV Alcohol Policy applies.
12.  Dogs are prohibited without exception. Penalty is elimination
13.  Queries, protests, horse abuse, rules as per the PCAV Handbook of By-Laws.
14.  Lungeing at this competition must take place in the confined area designated exclusively for lungeing, by the organizing committee. At a competition only the competitor may ride or lunge his horse or pony. The penalty for disobeying this rule is elimination
15.  Neither the organising committee of this competition nor the PCAV accepts any responsibility whatsoever for any accident, damage, injury or illness to horses, riders, ground spectators or any other person or property.
16.  Protests must be in writing and signed by the DC or nominated representative and accompanied by non-refundable $50 fee. There will be no protests accepted from open events, but enquiries most welcome.

18.  Each pony club is expected to supply a minimum of one cross country steward per three riders.

Learner Participation Entry fee $10

All learners will receive a prize for participating in the day

Learners have the opportunity to participate in one dressage test and/or one show jumping round.

Learner dressage test is available from the organisers (on our website). Riders may be led or have the test called. Learner show jumping course will be 6 to 10 obstacles with a minimum starting height of 10 cm, Maximum finishing height of 45 cm. It will not be timed.

Open riders $10 fee

For non-pony club members to cover a day attendance insurance levy.

All open riders must sign a day attendance form (available on PCAV website) before riding on the day.

                        Open riders who are not PCAV members must pay an additional $10 PCAV levy.

PCAV Club Member Cards: For pony club members, PCAV club member cards must be inspected at the event office before riding.

Armbands: Medical armbands must be worn by all competitors (applies to pony club and open sections)

Helmets: Correct ‘standards’ numbered helmet must be worn as specified in PCAV Gear Rules. Spot checks may occur and incorrect helmet will mean elimination.

Gear Check: All competitors must present for one PCAV Gear Check per discipline on the day.

Competitor Numbers: The organising committee will pre-allocate and advise numbers. Competitors may supply their own numbers.  Body numbers will be available. Open riders: $5 refundable deposit on body numbers.
